Chuffed is a Britishism that goes up to the middle of the 20th century. It means to be very happy, how the term would only be utilized in an informal context. Sadly, it appears to have no link to a lot older, unrelated phrase chuff. One of those, a manual of types titled Ecodefense: A Field Information to Monkeywrenching, by Dave Foreman, was first published in 1985 and provided detailed directions on all kinds of miscellaneous deviltry. The term monkeywrenching was launched by Edward Abbey in his 1975 ebook The Monkey Wrench Gang and is now synonymous with acts of eco-terror. Acts of eco-terrorism, also called ecotage, a combination of the prefix eco and the word sabotage, attack people or issues that threaten the setting or the wildlife it supports.
